It used to be that around 95% of new players came from organic SEO using the syntax 'Risk Online'. I am not sure of the exact numbers now, however as there is very little else in terms of marketing activity, I assume it is similar. Paid ads do not work very well as only around 4% of new players (again old data..) convert to paid subscribers, therefore the ROI makes it unviable.

Videos can be highly effective at generating new users and can benefit from the affiliate scheme in plays which rewards players with 25% of the revenue generated from new players, by including the unique link, usually somewhere in the description.
TikTok - whilst I can imagine it is effective in terms of traction, the fact the game is not very well optimised for mobile devices means that players are usually disuaded from buying premium as TikTok is predominatley mobile users, when those user types are targetted.

if you wanna make it popular you have to make it flashy, at its core atwar is not a flashy game but yet it maintains to be my favorite game for 3 years in a row. Which raises the question, why? The truth of the matter is that the community is great, the mechanics are simple yet very important, and plus i love map painting the map. If you wanna drag people into atwar you have to clickbait them, most people have a complete and utter lack of having a mind able to try new things and so atwar will look too boring for them.

I agree with Khau, that and fix ranks. You won't keep players around by having them spend literal years ranking up. Games nowadays are fast pace and we need to adapt to that.

We need to make it up to like rank 100 or even like 200 and make them easy to rank up, otherwise it's pretty boring
Shields for ranks can be for every 5, 10 o 20 ranks...

I haven't seen the game in a worst state this last 2 months since i've joined in 2019.
There is not much activity... or maybe there is in beginners, but most of them never play in main lobby because they quit they quit the game in rank 3 or 4
We need improved tutorials... Intermediate and Advanced tutorials have been "coming soon" for a while but they never come, players want to improve
Nowadays short-form content is really good to promote games... that could be used for atwar aswell, a game where you conquer other countries? I think it could work, the concept of the game is amazing.
And one last thing,
I know you don't have much time. I don't either, but I don't own a game. If you don't have time for atWar, please sell it. Someone there has more time and I know you want the best for this game.

Edit: And I can't even imagine how it must feel for the people that have been here since the afterwind days. The game they devoted so much time in is literally dying in front of their eyes...

Does it happen when you switch back to your preferred language again?

if you switch back there is chat, but from my own experiences 24hs later i had the same bug again

I think i'd rather put everyone's name in a hat and pull one to select a mod.

What could possibly go wrong?

Edit: Fixed. But only because I have a good friend that said That Sid told him that it had to do with the language I have the game in. The question is, to how many people can this happen, and not know the solution to it? this must be fixed at some point, because to everyone that doesn't have the game in English can have this bug.

Bug Report

Expected behavior

When I'm in a game, I should be able to chat and move out of a city the units I want, not all.

Actual behavior

When in game, I have no chat.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. Enter a game or create a game
2. you will see there is no chat

Information:

Browser: Chrome, Edge

Browser version: 109.0.5414.75 (chrome)

OS: Windows 10

Any other relevant information:

Happens both in my main, my alt and in the guest account i created. But before picking a game to play and before starting a game I do have chat.
I first realized when I was in game, reloaded and then chat magically dissapeared.

As you can see from the screenshots, I cannot see if someone writes something, and I can't open chat either.
Something intresting I found is that, If I turn sounds on, I can hear the sound of people leaving and entering back the game (reloading)
I would like this issue to be solved ASAP, as chat is key to playing the game, specially in competitive where you need to tell your teammates stuff.

Chill down Palm, what's the matter with that toxic ego? Winning the WC doesn't make your maths any better than usual as far as I see... where's the problem in admiting a bigger impact of luck on 1k games anyway? What bothers you so much?

It bothers me because 1k duels already have a bad reputation, I won't lie, there is luck involved, and if people don't want to play it, i couldn't care less. But I won't accept people trying to make it seem as if it is 100% luck when it clearly isn't
