New rule about alternative player accounts?

Ok, here is the scenario:

You are playing a cw (2v2), your enemies are r11 and some r6 you don't know. You are r10 and have an r7 you can use to make it fair. Get into the cw and turns out the r6 isn't at all who you think he is (he's an alt) and ends up destroying the cw.

This doesn't seem fair to me at all, but bear with me, it doesn't stop there, infact the biggest abuse of this happens with dueling.

Higher ranks are making new accounts just so they can farm elo off of other low ranks. Everyone is aware of this one though.

Suggestions:

Make a new rule forbidding alternative accounts from dueling and cw'ing with the purpose of farming elo and/or deceiving opponents.

• + Least intrusive
• - It will be harder to moderate this.
• + Force the alt to give out his identity beforehand.

Make a new rule forbidding alternative accounts period.

• + Nips the problem at the bud
• + Why would anyone need an alt? You can practically change your whole identity as it is.
• = They are only somewhat justified for use in cw's for 2v2s (can be combated eventually when/if admins make 2v2's something you don't need an alt for).

Well, I'm all in for not allowing low ranks and alts to duel, although I am not sure what to think about not allowing people to have alts, specially considering how it seems like everyone has one

If you're talking about KissMyAss!, he isn't an alt. I've seen his play and it isn't as strong as most high ranked players.

Stronger than mine though...

I wasn't talking about anyone in particular, i was speaking generally.

I agree, this needs a more efficient way of being addressed. However, if an alt is farming cw/ elo, pm a mod and we can look into it.

The rules have been updated recently to manage this problem. No secondary accounts are allowed in competitive play games.
