Two of the best clans went head to head in one death-defying Clan War.

The line up to the CW was :

BiteMe!

Dalmati

Brandeas-Russia Volga

kalande-UK

bargain-Germany

Abdulla-Spain

Hugosch-Turkey

VRIL-Ukraine

The match began in Dalmati's favor with Brandeas unfortunately failing in Russia Central against VRIL and Hugosch getting luckfucked in Romania and Bulgaria. As the game continued VRIL capped Brandeas making the game seem even more dull for BiteMe!. However with time BiteMe! managed to find their footing and were eventually able to cap VRIL, this also allowed Hugosch to focus on Abdulla who was pushing into the Balkans. Eventhough VRIL was gone, it seemed that bargain and Hugosch had taken a lot of damage, Abdulla and kalande seemed to be able to take advantage of this and continued to dominate the game until the end. "I surrender" were the last words said by Hugosch.

[pr] V-dog115: Brandreas: Ok so why the choice of Russia Volga?
[pr] Brandreas: To try and take out VRIL soon. We thought that he's the biggest threat.
[pr] V-dog115: Brandreas:Did you have anyway strategy or was it just to go all into RC to stop his expansion
[pr] Brandreas: All to RC.
[pr] V-dog115: Brandreas: What do you think about your death, did you think you served your role in the team?
[pr] Brandreas: I guess i weakened VRIL enough.
[pr] Brandreas: I thought i could take Central. Losing it was a big surprise for me.
[pr] V-dog115: Brandreas: Do you think it would have been better to over expand into South and maybe into the north than the approach you actually took?
[pr] Brandreas: I guess not. Since i knew it's going to be one of the 2 ways: VRIL's also fulling on Central. Or he's not going to attack it all.
[pr] V-dog115: Brandreas: do you feel you made any mistakes as volga?
[pr] Brandreas: I did all i could. Couldn't have done any better.
[pr] Brandreas: Since i lost, it must've not been enough.
[pr] Brandreas: But i guess i did no mistakes. Couldn't have done anything else that was worth doing.
[pr] V-dog115: Brandreas: "Do you think your setback could result in the death of hugo" ?
[pr] Brandreas: hmm. Hugo can keep it up.
[pr] V-dog115: Brandreas: Your country choice seemed to focus on the East more than the west, was there any strategy behind that or was it just coincidence?
[pr] Brandreas: No strategy behind that whatsoever.
[pr] V-dog115: Brandeas: Ok thanks for the interview
[pr] Brandreas: No problem

[pr] V-dog115: ~VRIL: So how did you feel about your performance in the cw?
[pr] ~VRIL: I have done better already. But I think it was not too bad for 1v2 after all.
[pr] V-dog115: ~VRIL: Did you know that Brandeas would go all into Volga or were you hesitant?
[pr] V-dog115: ~VRIL: and did you have any perticular strategy?
[pr] ~VRIL: we have prepared for situations like that. But I havent seen it for some time.
[pr] ~VRIL: and ofc you I could only guess he would all in Moscow
[pr] ~VRIL: as its the most important city in that region
[pr] V-dog115: ~VRIL: Who did you see as the biggest threat?
[pr] ~VRIL: Hugosch and Bargain both are very strong and experienced players... but Abdulla and Kalande were in a good position
[pr] ~VRIL: we usually come well prepared and have worked out a quiet successful overall approach for that match up. But I wont go into detail here
[pr] V-dog115: Do you see any competiton that would threaten your #1 spot?
[pr] ~VRIL: Empire SRB and BiteMe! are still the biggest competitors.
[pr] ~VRIL: but im sure sooner or later there will be other CLNs aswell and with new players
[pr] ~VRIL: the upcoming updates will make a difference aswell im sure
[pr] ~VRIL: I wont deny it since we obviously are the CLN with most mods in it but i dont see a problem with it.

[pr] AceBrit: ~Hugosch: Great. First of all, unlucky about the loss. You played great.
[pr] AceBrit: ~Hugosch: How are you feeling?
[pr] ~Hugosch: yeah, we made 2 mistakes: 1. Picking volga, and (2) i didn't take romania/bulgaria in first turn
[pr] ~Hugosch: we where discussing about we should take volga or not ...but we took it as we where running out of time
[pr] ~Hugosch: i have a good feeling though, i don't care about losing, we learned from this
[pr] ~Hugosch: it was a great match, which even could turn to our side when VRIL was dead
[pr] AceBrit: ~Hugosch: Right. So you were saying Hugo is a terrible pick? or did Brandreas mess up?
[pr] ~Hugosch: Volga worked in previous matches ...but expierenced players (like VRIL), know how to handle it, we should have known that
[pr] AceBrit: ~Hugosch: I think another reason you should be happy is that you capped Vril , are you enjoying that feeling?
[pr] ~Hugosch: it was a 'due or die' strategy ...we would lose anyway with VRIL in
[pr] ~Hugosch: it worked out good, and it turned the game to our favour
[pr] AceBrit: ~Hugosch: Mhmm, just out of curiousity, I want to know that was there any other choices apart from Volga?
[pr] ~Hugosch: yes, France would be better or even Italy
[pr] ~Hugosch: bargain was our strongest player in this match... We expected him to die soon, but he hold them off and they lost 70units in his cap
[pr] ~Hugosch: i failed in my first turn, on not taking bulgaria and romania ...then Abdulla could attack me, and i became weak
[pr] AceBrit: ~Hugosch: I'm pretty sure mistakes happen. Do you ever think that Bite Me will ever win a CW?
[pr] ~Hugosch: hahaha, we just almost won of the best coalition of this moment ...yes we will win, and yes we will be #1 at some point
[pr] AceBrit: ~Hugosch: Do you think there will be a clan that can beat Dalmati?
[pr] ~Hugosch: the problem is that they are stacking all good players (that the reason i joined Syndicate at the time, and not Dalmati)
[pr] ~Hugosch: it would be more competitive if there where more strong coalitions, like Victorious Secret,
[pr] ~Hugosch: but yes, they are beatable ...by BM or SRB, the 3 strongest coalitions atm i think

I see it as one of the main problems aswell why AW is lacking high level competition. But its not just us. Different times of activity and a rather
limited amount of players on a high level are factors that force EVERY cln to stack pros. Its not that easy to solve this situation because coalitions
also important for social interaction.

1. Hmm , I will look over that...
2. We were planning to do that in this weeks article, but unfortunately we couldn't get a hold of Fruit.
3. It'll probably be the next one.

@VRIL:
This is the problem:

Top100 players:
1. Empire SRB: 14
2. Dalmati + pups: 9
3. BiteMe!: 9

Then the other coalitions follow with:
United We Stand: 6
While other coalitions have 1-5 in the toplist. This makes it too hard for us to play other 'high ranked' coalitions. And then i'm not even counting the 'ex-members' of the 3 coalitions. Because i think we could get over 50% then that has been in either 1 of the 3 coalitions.

With that, we know that SRB, Dalmati and BM are still accepting new members (I think Dalmati is even the most active in searching, while BM and SRB just handle new applies). The problem is that the remaining 'high ranked' players are too devided in all sorts of coalitions or are playing alone. WBL could be seen as the 4th 'top-coalition', but sadly fall apart in 10 small coalitions. We are currently unable to play any other coalition, except each other. We need more competition, and i will applaud any member leaving one of the top coalitions to form his own (like Safari).

If it was all about competition and cws it wouldnt make any sense to have teams with more than 4 or 5 active players in it
as we always play 3v3. But I dont feel like AW is ready for that in the near future. We are lacking a proper cln league or
cw system on the one hand and player mindsets and organization on the other.

Great post, V-dog. I think it could have used more screenshots, but the interviews nicely made up.

In response to the VRIL, when it comes to small coalitions, not everyone is online at the same time. The more players, the more choices as to who to play at any given time, the more CWs.

I really hope the people of our generation understand this..... It seems like the old generation had the same problem as us.
