Why do people surrender when they have like 5 SP?

I don't get it wtf is the point of surrendering for 2 fucking SP

but no seriously its just because its one way of leaving a game, i dont think any thought is put into it

It now improves your stats, because it lowers the percentage of games abandoned, and games lost is not shown.

I once saw someone surrender when they had 2 sp. Their thoughts: 1 SP if I surrender

because they dont care for statistic,i have seen players to quith game when they have 3000-4000 sp
and when you get all upgrades sp don't have worth anymore

I didn't learn until rank 7 that surrendering saved SP.

Too late to undo it now, but for the most part, the way I see it, a loss was a loss.

On one hand everybody claims SP has absolutely nothing to do with skill, yet so many are quickly judging low ranks for wanting to at least get some SP in spite of the fact they lost.

In many case I've had very close games where I didn't send a small group of units in the right place and the game was over.
These games took hours of my time- and sorry I feel for the prideful assholes who would rather leave instead of surrender (although in any case you are leaving the game, regardless of it counting SP or not).

Accept it as it is, no point complaining lol.

I surrender if it was a fair game. I don't do it for the SP.

All my abandoned games were either practice games or games that got screwed up by leavers/allyfags.

Surrendering is giving up a fight that you'll know you have no chance of winning. You won't gain the SP you think is worth it by continuing to fight, so why not surrender?
