So apparently the last thread was deleted because I posted ww1 marching music and that is considered spam/offtopic...

Anyway here is my suggestion again. As Atlos said the history forum could be used as a mechanism to share maps of historical locations and countries and discussion about units and the such, as well as a place for discussion of our favorite academic subject! It would be beneficial in every way and allow for the circulation of historical thought and the overall improvement of the quality of maps.

Let me reiterate my original statement to the best of my ability:

Basically, a History (I prefer a "Studies" forum, there could be subfolders for academic ranges, but anyways) subforum would provide the following for our community:

  • Accurate Templates/Borders for Maps/Scenarios/Casual study
  • Accurate Demographics/Population Distribution
  • Time-Period specific naming, language translations
  • Increased site traffic/activeness, due to easy-access information, meriting faster map and scenario publication

    etc etc.

We could set up/pin threads with svg/pdn files w/ borders of things ranges from Austrasia to Cyrodiil. Same goes for all things listed above. This forum needs to be made, not just for the information that will be compiled in it, but the fact that we won't be limited to the phrase "Just make a thread in Off-Topic".

Honestly this is just another forum for moderators to moderate. And i don't see a point. If you guys want to set up a wiki or fan forum talking about this stuff that's fine but i don't see the point in such an official forum.

Did you not read Atlos' reason? Too many people have supported it for it to be ignored. Most of the mods have already announced their support and are moderating it for another reason ol bean.

It's a good idea but a history forum is extremely important and should be visible to all not just people in my group.

Sometimes on scenarios like GGG and 7 years war, people argue and complain that this is wrong, british didn't own that, etc. Having a reliable source to reference to will be helpful to map makers and useful to clear things up. I support.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Discussions about the Roman general Drusus are not equivalent to whether Bush was a good president.

    Nova Scotia = New Scotland.

That's pretty much it, save for a few sheep-fucking colonies, and your occasional golf course/bagpipe repair shop.

Sheep-fucking, Bagpipes, and a failed colony are exceptionally noble. In a few years, you might have your own country again as well! Also, unrelated a tad, but you can become a Laird of Scotland by paying the Happy Merchant a few shekels, and in doing so you receive a whole square meter of land off somewhere in the middle of nowhere!

    ----

On a serious note: I apologize; I critically underestimated your likelihood of being born with Scottish descent.

How have they failed? Were they not the ones in control of the British Empire this whole time, for the most part?

They went bankrupt and decided to join the crowns, they aren't a real country right now, just like Palestine.
