In light of many recent questions, I am hosting an ask me (almost) anything about moderating thread. Please post if you have any general questions about moderating.

Please don't post if you are not asking a question, asking a non-serious question, a non-AW question, or asking about your specific circumstances. If you ignore my polite request you risk losing your posting privileges.

Is advertising your coalition, a forum thread, or an outside video/post/website allowed on [gl]? I've been warned for it before.

Coalition = ok to recruit, as long as its not spammed a ton
Forum thread = usually ok, unless troll/off topic
Outside video = spam, usually get a warning or it might slip by if you only do once. Room chat is best for that.

No, its not. Latejoining is ok. There's a good thread somewhere about how to deal with this. It includes things like turning down the join week.

Why do you guys moderate room chat so frequently? I understand when people are hating on eachother, but a lot of people usually get warned or muted for healthy debate in room chat. I think it's fun and a dead room chat is a dead aw...

My opinion is healthy debate is generally ok. Moderating happens when it turns to a not ok topic of debate, such as race, religion, or when the debate turns personal. In those circumstances we will ask it to be toned down. If those requests are ignored, warnings or mutes may be issued.

Will there ever be sections where users can advertise their coalitions/scenarios using an advert of some sort that will show up around the site, instead of the gl chat?

oh okay, but at one point people were debating the olympics and which country was the best, and I started to make an argument for USA (didn't insult anyone) and I was muted for 15 mins lol

Hmm...interesting idea. Where do you mean, like the home page? There is a Scenario forum you can advertise it in already...and a Coalition forum for coalitions.

There could be a charge of 5000SP or something to put one in that space, and it stays there for 24 hours, sharing the space with others that may of bought it as well, meaning the ads get equal people seeing it, yet one may get more clicks than the other if the ad is well made.

On average, in an hour how many reports do you get?

This is my experience only.

Usually = 0. When its packed, or a weekend, it can be 1 to 20, with average about 5.

Oh well that's not bad. I don't really think there's a need for more mods then.

Well, we don't have to wait for a report to act either. Sometimes we spot things on our own. But generally speaking I don't go hunting people down...

Well, we don't have to wait for a report to act either. Sometimes we spot things on our own. But generally speaking I don't go hunting people down...

Well they're a cln of Mods and 2 Admins.... I don't think they'll do it.
