Since the other map contest is death, i will host my own.

13th Century: Scourge of God

A Medieval Roleplay/Political scenario centered around the Mongol Invasions, The Crusades, and general European diplomacy. In 13th Century you do not have to live the path of a warmonger. You can easily forge a great financial empire by simply trading. In fact in one of my games as Bulgaria, I successfully traded all throughout the Mediterranean. Do not listen to whatever the skeptics say, trade work. (it made up 70% of my income with just 4)






My map also has a unique unit system. All factions' units are unique and they all have multiple stages. At first everyone's units will have -1 stats but have -10 cost. After 5 turns these units MAY upgrade into the next stage, gaining +1 to every stat and +10 cost. This continues on for a while. After about 20 turns, all factions should have specialized armies. France shall have the most potent cavalry and likewise for the Russians. If your units did not evolve however then you are in for a different experience! Your units stayed below average but are still extremely cheap compared to others. France could easily become poor with a large cavalry force, but you could go crazy building up forces never worrying about money or income. Combine this with a trading empire and you will reap the rewards of wealth! Quality vs. Quantity!

PS: Despite what some will say, this unit system is not broken. As Hungary, a nation with the most cruddy infantry, I managed to beat back any fully upgraded army with just sheer numbers. I became the China of my game.

Well at least I will win it for a map I made with a lot of effort and love!
