How did he make a perfect wall?!

I was playing with a person named Marc_the_basset. After w few turns he told me that he always had a trouble making walls without the gaps. I was about to tell him "Its natural for a triangle wall to have a gap." but i noticed two triangles or 3 troops in a defense line. I noticed that there was no gaps in between the walls. he made a perfect triangle wall. several people saw his walls. and we all have the same question. How did he do it? is possible to make a perfect wall. or is it a bug? If you know how he did it please post in here. thank you!

This happens when you have a wall of 4 units, but 2 are very close together.
